Early December, the Alliance Française of Houston, with Villa Albertine, the French Institute for Culture and Education and Archaeology Now were delighted to host the conference "Building a Cathedral: How 3D Scanning Saved Notre-Dame" presented by Natalia Cherginskaya-Peters (Iconem), Helga Aurisch (Museum of Fine Arts, Houston), and moderated by Belle Carroll (Page) Combining their unique expertise, the speakers highlighted the importance of digital heritage preservation, focusing especially on the case of Notre-Dame, where digital 3D reconstitution played a pivotal role in the cathedral's reconstruction.
This event, offered those in Houston the opportunity to celebrate the reopening of the iconic Notre Dame cathedral.
