Alliance Française de Houston |
Join us for an evening of conversation, learning, and cultural exchange as we explore the lasting legacy of the Lovett, De Menil and Schlumberger families and the Alliance Française of Houston. This special lecture and cocktail event invites guests to reflect on how these visionary families and institutions have shaped Houston’s artistic, cultural, and intellectual landscape over the past century.
The evening will begin at 5:30 PM with a cocktail reception, offering time to connect and engage in conversation. At 6:00 PM, Anne Breux will present a lecture tracing the influence, heritage, and enduring impact of these families and institutions, followed by an opportunity for discussion and questions.
Anne Breux is a freelance interior architect in Houston, Texas, where she arrived 30 years ago. Along her career in contemporary design, in France and in the United States, she developed a strong interest for history of art and architecture and became a senior docent at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston as well as at the Asia Society Texas Center; she holds a master degree in interior architecture from l’Ecole supérieure des arts modernes, Paris.
Guests are encouraged to stay after the presentation to continue the dialogue, exchange ideas, and enjoy a relaxed social moment with fellow attendees.
