Our Summer Camp Team

Lilia Beddar Camp Instructor

Bonjour, my name is Lilia Beddar.

I started my journey with L'Alliance Francaise de Houston in March 2025, after finishing the Diplôme d'Aptitude à l'Enseignement du Français Langue Étrangère (DAEFLE). I am very excited to be part of this incredible team.

I'm originally from Constantine, Algeria. Therefore, French has been a part of my life since I was a child. After spending 18 years in Houston, I gained a deep admiration for multicultural cultures. Language, in my opinion, is more than just a tool of communication; it is also a gateway to learning about other cultures and ideas. I enjoy traveling with my family, learning about other cultures, and tasting new foods. I'm very thrilled to inspire students and help them develop a deep passion for the French language.

Bintou Mvore Keita Camp Instructor

My name is Bintou Mvore Keita, I am from Gabon & Mali (Central and West Africa ) and grew up in Gabon. I am 26 years old and I have been living in Houston since 2018. I came here after I graduate High School in Ivory Coast , to study. I had my Associate degree in Math, Earth and Science in 2022, and I started working as a teacher for the 2nd , 3rd and 4th grader for a year , before deciding to go back to school, I am currently pursuing my Bachelor degree in Computer Science. I’m really passionate about food, I worked as a private chef for 2 years here in Houston.

I love trying food from different culture and I love music.

I look forward to meet you and have the privilege to be your teacher!

Iris Jongejean Camp Instructor

Hello, my name is Iris, but my students call me Madame Iris!
I am American, but I was born in the Netherlands and lived in France in the Alps. In 2000, I returned to the Netherlands where I studied to become a French teacher. I began teaching French there at the high school Vrijzinnig Christelijk Lyceum. In 2008, we moved to the United States. I taught in private high schools, and when we lived in South Korea, I taught English to children ages 5–12.

Since 2024, I have been teaching French here at the Alliance Française. During the week, I also teach French at Clements High School in Sugar Land, and in the evenings I teach online (on Zoom) for the Alliance Française. As you can see, I am truly passionate about teaching!

A few more things about me: I am married to Robert, and we have two daughters. We live in Clear Lake, right by the water. On weekends, we enjoy sailing on Galveston Bay. I also love reading and cooking.

I am very excited to begin classes this year and to get to know you—or to see you again in my classroom!
See you soon!

Madame Iris

Sabrina Alati Camp Instructor

Bonjour je m’appelle Sabrina !
Je suis Rueilloise ! A native French speaker from Rueil-Malmaison, a city near Paris best known for the “Château de la Malmaison” once home to Napoleon Bonaparte’s first wife, Joséphine de Beauharnais.

With a French and Italian background, I developed a deep interest for languages and culture from an early age. I had the opportunity to travel extensively to Italy and immerse myself in the Italian language and culture as well as the rest of Europe.

After earning a Master’s degree in Marketing Management from the University of Westminster in London, I moved to Houston where I began my career in French education, a field for which I developed a passion.

I bring over 12 years of experience in education, including 10 years within French immersion institutions. I have had the privilege of teaching French in early childhood education, specifically in “Petite Section” and “Moyenne Section” levels, within an international context.

In 2023, I earned a Diplôme Universitaire in Education for Primary and Secondary Levels from the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne in France. Throughout my career, I have designed and implemented engaging lesson plans and student-centered learning activities, fostering a dynamic and supportive environment where the French language can truly flourish.

I am delighted to be part of your learning experience here at the Alliance Française and am confident that my unique background and skills will allow me to make a meaningful contribution to your success.

À très bientôt !

Le Français c’est simple comme bonjour !
