DÉAMBULATIONS FRANCOPHONES
Francophone Wanderings
A photography exhibit by Fikry Botros
The Alliance Française de Houston presents Francophone Wanderings, a photography exhibition by the local photographer Fikry
Botros. The exhibition features a collection of photographs taken in various Francophone countries, of candid unguarded moments from
everyday life.
Rather than focusing on landmarks or spectacle, Francophone Wanderings centers on lived experience: in streets, cafés, markets, and public spaces where language, culture, and routine intersect. Taken across multiple francophone regions, the images reflect both the shared rhythms of daily life and the subtle distinctions shaped by place, history, and local customs.
Fikry’s approach is unobtrusive and empathetic. His work resists staging or intervention, allowing gestures, expressions, and fleeting interactions to unfold naturally. The result is a body of work that feels intimate without being intrusive, and documentary without being didactic.
Francophone Wanderings supports Alliance Française de Houston’s mission to promote Francophone cultures through arts and
cultural programming. The exhibition will be on view at the Alliance Française in Houston from March 1st to May 30th and is open to
the public during regular hours.
