Kids Pastry Workshop: Gâteau au Yaourt

Step into the kitchen and discover one of France’s most beloved childhood recipes: Gâteau au Yaourt! In this fun, hands-on cooking workshop, children will learn how to prepare this classic French yogurt cake while discovering the simple ingredients and traditions behind this family favorite.

Working together in age-appropriate groups, young bakers will measure, mix, and prepare their own gâteau while learning basic baking techniques and French culinary vocabulary along the way. Volunteers will be available to assist our youngest participants throughout the workshop.

More than just a recipe, Gâteau au Yaourt is a true French childhood classic, often one of the first cakes children learn to make at home. This workshop offers young participants a delicious and interactive way to experience a little piece of French culture while having fun in the kitchen.

At the end of the workshop, children will enjoy their creations and receive a bilingual French-English recipe so they can recreate the gâteau at home with their families.
