Join us for a special edition of the Alliance Française Wine School dedicated to the art of pairing French wines with your favorite holiday dishes. Guided by wine expert James Barlow, discover how different styles of French wine complement the flavors of the season, from festive appetizers and rich main courses to cheeses and desserts.

Through a curated tasting, learn practical tips for selecting, serving, and pairing wines for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holiday gatherings. Whether you're planning an elegant dinner, hosting friends and family, or simply wondering what bottle to bring to your next celebration, you'll leave with new ideas and plenty of inspiration for the holiday table.

Guided by wine expert James Barlow, explore the terroir, grape varieties, and winemaking traditions that define this historic appellation while tasting a curated selection of wines from some of its renowned estates. From Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot-based reds to elegant Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon-based whites, discover the diversity and distinctive character that make Pessac-Léognan one of Bordeaux’s essential wine regions.

Open Seating: Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are attending with a partner or group and would like to sit together, we strongly recommend arriving early. Once the class has begun, we may not be able to rearrange seating to accommodate groups.

Please drink responsibly: Alcohol will be served during this event. We strongly encourage guests to use Uber, Lyft, a designated driver, or another safe transportation option, especially if they plan to participate in the full tasting. Please do not drink and drive.

Parking is limited, so the use of ride-share services is highly encouraged.

Please do not park across the street from Alliance Française de Houston on Lovett Blvd., between Whitney St. and Taft St.
