French Cultures Festival in Houston

On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the Alliance Française de Houston and Villa Albertine Houston came together to launch the French Cultures Festival with a vibrant opening evening dedicated to the richness of Francophone cultures worldwide.

The highlight of the night was an engaging panel discussion titled "Haïti au carrefour des cultures : créoles, francophones, anglophones" ("Haiti at the Crossroads of Cultures: Creole, Francophone, and Anglophone"), which brought together a remarkable group of voices. Renowned Haitian actor and author Jimmy Jean-Louis joined distinguished panelists Linsey Sainte-Claire, professor at Rice University, and Grégory Jean, analyst-writer at the Representation of the OIF for the Americas, for a thought-provoking conversation on Haitian culture and its place at the intersection of languages and identities.

Following the panel, guests celebrated with music and cultural exchange in a warm, convivial atmosphere that reflected the diversity and spirit of the Francophone world.

The event was co-organized by Villa Albertine Houston and the Alliance Française de Houston, with the support of numerous partners dedicated to promoting cultural dialogue and Francophone diversity.
