A bit about the artists:
- Isabelle Perreau was born in Angers in France’s Loire Valley and has lived in Houston for more than 25 years. She holds a master’s degree
with honors in Philosophy from the University of Paris Nanterre and is a longtime French teacher at the Alliance Française de Houston. She
is a professional photographer whose work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions, including FotoFest.
- Silvia Pinto-Souza is a Houston-based artist who holds diplomas from both the Byam Shaw School of Art and the Slade School of Art in
London. For more than two decades, she has devoted herself exclusively to painting. Her work has been recognized by numerous institutions
and exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad.
- Jim N. Hill is a Houston-based painter whose color- and shape-driven works draw inspiration from his friends and neighbors, as well as
artists such as Milton Avery and Henri Matisse. Working primarily in acrylic and watercolor, Jim has taught art at Houston Community College
for more than 25 years. He received his MFA from the University of Arkansas.
Thank you to our wonderful artists for choosing Alliance Française to showcase your incredible work, and thank you to everyone who joined us for a beautiful opening reception! Escapades en Terres Françaises is on display from October 2026 to December 2026.
